I first came across Andy's Solares garden sculpture at a show in 2019 and was immediately taken with them. Each set is unique because he has no set template for them, but the idea is the same each time. So the ones you see in these photo's may not be the ones you get but they will be similar. The other 'variable' with these is that they can be displayed in an infinite number of different ways. Made from 25mm stainless steel tubing, the bottom end of the tubes are connected to a circular base which itself is inserted into to the ground. The display will vary depending on the order of the tubes on the base plate, and the rotation of the tube on that base plate! (I hope some of that makes sense. If not, please let me know!)
There was no great eureka moment when I began designing these. It rather started with the polished stainless steel orbs. I liked the way they radiate light, which is why I called them solar sculptures. So think of them as solar rays!
