OK, I have to admit this. I really like this piece of garden sculpture, because it's about much more than just the leaded glass which is of course the central feature. Made in Joe's inimitable way using specially sourced crafted glass. He has then addd from the side of the sculpture flowing fronds which just give so much to the piece
Standing about 1.7m high, it is made with 10mm round treated mild steel, and the fronds are made using 25mm flat steel pieces, which are somehow very cleverly curved. The base of the sculpture has two cross bars at right angles to give it a little more stability, with a 30cm spike at the bottom to hold it in place.
I'm so lucky, my studio is in a spectacular garden with a stunning range of plants, flowers and trees. So I created this piece in honour of my landlady, Meike, who puts so much hard work into keeping the garden beautiful all year round. It is inspirational to be here and I am so grateful to her.
If you like the design of this piece but not the colours, then let us know. Joe is normally happy to make pieces specially to customers preferred hues. (at the same price too!)
