A ceramic stoneware sculpture made from a base of Crank clay, giving a warm light brown colour.
The form has rough and smooth features with 3 incised lines. The textures are higlighted with porcelain slip
Colouring is applied, using an oxide wash, after the first firing.
Each sculpture is hand-made, so no two will be exactly the same, but each will be similar in colour and size
I take my influence from everything around me, but the form develops as the clay is moulded. My hands and mind working together to influence the work.
The sculpture is fired twice, first at 1000c and later at 1280c which makes them very hard wearing and suitable to withstand low temperatures.
