Handmade from fairly coarse-grained sandstone from a local quarry. First carved then sanded to give the sculpture a smooth tactile finish.
Each piece is mounted so it can turn individually, which highlights the variable contours of each.
The is mounted on a 40 x 900mm stainless steel rod. Please ask if you would like advice on installation.
In this piece I have explored the geometric properties of three concentric circles, warping each of them so that each has only one continuous surface. The cross-sections of the two outer circles are rectangular at the bottom and a perfect diamond at the top. The inner egg has an equilateral triangular cross-section throughout.
